NCN 552 - North Shropshire is a 48.5 km road cycling route in West Midlands with 482 m of climbing, about 3% of it off road, and it splits into a single day at a moderate pace.
The route runs north from Newport through quiet Shropshire farmland, passing through Cheswardine and Chipnall before reaching Market Drayton at roughly the halfway point. The surface is almost entirely road. Beyond Market Drayton the line continues through Norton in Hales and Kinsey Heath before crossing into Cheshire at Audlem, then runs on through Sound and Ravensmoor to finish in Nantwich.
Worth knowing before you go
Market Drayton and Nantwich are the main places for resupply; between Newport and Market Drayton the settlements are small, and between Audlem and Nantwich the road is similarly quiet. Nantwich has the Butter Cross, the museum and the war memorial close to the centre if you need to orientate yourself on arrival.
