NCN 83 - Dunkeld Lochs Loop is a 26.6 km road cycling route in North East Scotland with 382 m of climbing, about 64% of it off road, and it splits into a single day at a moderate pace.
The first fifth out of Dunkeld is steep, gaining height quickly before the gradient eases through Inchmagrannachan into rolling and then hilly ground. Around two-thirds of the route runs off road. The fourth fifth is flat, and the final stretch back through Birnam and into Little Dunkeld is gently rolling. The route is tagged as road.
Dunkeld and Birnam are the only settlements with any size; between Inchmagrannachan and Butterstone there is a long gap with nothing on the line. The steep early climbing comes before your legs are warm.
